College Board Releases Results of AP® Course Audit
Ledger of AP Courses Taught in Secondary Schools Worldwide Now Available Online
On November 5, 2007, the College Board released a ledger of courses qualified to carry the Advanced Placement® (AP®) designation. These courses were found to meet College Board college-level standards in a review conducted by 839 professors representing hundreds of colleges and universities.
During the assessment, secondary school instructors who teach AP courses around the world had the opportunity to share their course syllabi with college faculty and receive feedback. Approval showed higher education's confirmation of the courses' value. Courses that have not received this endorsement from higher education are not allowed to use the "AP" label on student transcripts. View the AP Course Ledger the registry of approved AP courses. Does Success on Advanced Placement Exams Predict College Success?
Widespread research confirms that students who score well on the College Board's AP Exam are more likely to graduate college in five years or less, students who use AP to place out of introductory courses are more likely to pursue higher level course study in their exam discipline, and AP Exam grades are valid predictors of college success.
