About the 2006 AP® Annual Conference

The Advanced Placement Program's Annual Conference is the largest annual gathering of the AP® and Pre-AP® communities from across the United States and throughout the world. The conference provides professional development opportunities, information, and resources on the College Board's Advanced Placement Program® to AP teachers, AP Coordinators, administrators, middle school teachers, and counselors. The Program serves as a cooperative educational endeavor between secondary schools, colleges, and universities. Counted among the AP community are more than 130,000 teachers who lead 35 AP courses in 20 subject areas in high schools across the United States and the world. APAC 2005 Attendees' Subject Areas

In 2005, the AP National Conference in Houston drew over 2,500 members from the AP and K-16 communities during four days of workshops, panel discussions, presentations, and exhibits. As an acknowledgment of our growing international community, the conference has been renamed. The 2006 AP Annual Conference promises to be a banner event as AP continues to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary, as content in world languages and cultures is expanded, and as new workshops are launched. The conference will be returning to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, where unparalleled attendance was achieved in 2004.
