Dear AP Studio Art Teacher:
We want to thank you again for all that you do to help your students be successful. AP students owe much to the expertise and commitment you bring to your classroom every day. As you prepare your students for this last half of the year and for AP portfolio submission in the spring, we wish you all the best, and hope you find the information in this newsletter helpful.
We hope you and your students have had a chance to review the information on AP Central and the student site about digital submission. Below is a checklist that will help you prepare for the launch of the AP Studio Art Digital Submission web application later this month:
Learn how digital submission works. In particular, note the process for setting up access to the web application and sharing access information with your students. |
Download previews of the web application:
Review the technical requirements and check that you and your students have access to the required web browsers. |
Read answers to frequently asked questions to learn more about how to capture, store, and organize images of students' artworks and for links to digital photography resources. |
Let students know that information is available for them on the College Board student site. |
Check in with your school's AP Coordinator to ensure that you receive the necessary access information from them. When the web application becomes available in mid-January, AP Coordinators will register schools with the AP Studio Art Digital Submission web application and then pass access information on to teachers.
Register Now for the 2009 AP Annual Conference and take advantage of the Early Bird Savings.

Update on the AP Course Audit
Administrators at your school are responsible for renewing any courses that were authorized last year through the AP Course Audit process and are being offered again this year. If your course was authorized in 2007–08, and you are teaching the course in 2008–09 but it has yet to be renewed, alert your school administrators immediately. If you are new to teaching the AP course at your school, and haven't yet submitted your course audit materials, you must do so no later than January 31, 2009. The AP Course Ledger now includes courses authorized for the 2008–09 academic year.
