As of July 1, 2012, the CLEP® exam fee is $80. We are sensitive to the current economic conditions, both for our students and for the institutions we serve. While we always strive to keep our costs to a minimum, this price increase is necessary to maintain and continue developing a valid and reliable testing program that helps students reach their educational goals.

CLEP exam fees help support a range of activities to assist students and professionals. In the past year, we have launched a number of new initiatives and tools, including:
- An interactive website where students and professionals can easily access resources on the CLEP program
- New guides, brochures and tools that highlight the value of the CLEP exam, including Academic Success in Higher Education
- A series of new online professional development workshops and regional mini-conferences around the nation
We encourage you to share the new fee with all staff and faculty responsible for advising students about CLEP. Please be sure to also check the numeric and written amounts on student checks or money orders submitted for payment.

The 13th annual conference of the National College Testing Association will take place Aug. 1–4 in Minneapolis, Minn.
The College Board will host a two-hour session for CLEP test center administrators on Aug. 1 from 8 to 10 a.m. to discuss program highlights and critical future initiatives. At this preconference session, CLEP will also make a very important announcement that will affect all test center administrators in the coming year.

The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education recently adopted a statewide policy that will mandate that the state's four-year public universities and two-year community and technical colleges will offer college credit through the College Board's Advanced Placement® and CLEP programs.

If you have not, please take a moment to update your institution's CLEP policy information via the CLEP Policy Form, to provide the best service and most current information to prospective CLEP test-takers.

It's not news that our nation's demographics are shifting and Americans from Hispanic/Latino backgrounds are one of the fastest-growing segments of our population. The CLEP program has responded to the needs of these students, and this past year the CLEP Spanish language exam volume experienced an unprecedented 6% growth.
