Advanced Placement Program®—AP®

Motivated high school students who have either completed AP Courses, or who believe they have excelled in a particular academic subject are eligible to take AP Exams. AP courses and exams are rigorous college-level work and are offered in 37 humanities subjects, including foreign languages. Before students begin the exam, they are asked to complete biographical information on the AP answer sheet. The AP Exams are graded on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 as the highest grade. AP Exams are administered every year in May. State participation rates are available from your regional representative on request. Note: students completing their senior year of high school and those who have already graduated are excluded.
