Student Search Service

What's one way to make sure colleges recognize your hard work in high school? Introduce yourself to them! By simply saying "yes" to the Student Search you can receive educational and financial aid information from colleges, universities, scholarship programs, and non-profit educational opportunity organizations that are seeking students like you. These educational organizations will receive your name and address if you have, for example, a specific grade average, score range, intended major, or if you live in a particular state or zip code.

Did you know?

Student Search Service provided over 65 million connections between students and colleges last year!

Instructions

To participate, check "yes" to the Student Search Service during online registration or on the Registration Form each time you register to take an SAT Program test. You can also say "yes" when you take the PSAT/NMSQT® or AP® exams.

Additional Information

Student Search Service will use the information from your SAT Questionnaire through December of your senior year (or if you are out of high school when you test, through the December following your test date).

The following information about you is sent to colleges, universities, scholarship programs, and non-profit educational opportunity organizations:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Gender
  • Birth date
  • High School Code
  • Graduation Year
  • Ethnic identification (if provided)

Note: Colleges, scholarship programs and non-profit educational opportunity organizations that receive information from Student Search Service are required to maintain strict confidentiality and must adhere to rigorous guidelines for the use of such information. The College Board actively reviews recipients of Student Search Service data to ensure compliance with those guidelines.
