Sending Old Scores

Archived Scores

Your test scores and your responses to the SAT Questionnaire are retained on active file until June of the year after the school year in which you tested, after which the test scores only are archived. If you tested before October 2002, you should request Archived Scores.

How to Report Old Scores

You can request archived scores by mail. Download the following form and complete each section:

2007-08 Archived Score Report Order Form (.pdf/112k)

Send your completed form and proper payment to the following address.

SAT Program
P.O. Box 8057
Mt. Vernon, IL 62864

For an additional fee, you can request archived scores by telephone.

Call Customer Service , and have the following information ready:

  • Current name and address
  • Registration number and test date (if available)
  • Name and address at the time you tested
  • College and scholarship program codes of recipients of your scores
  • Credit card number and expiration date

Reporting Fees

There is a score reporting fee for each report, plus additional processing fees.

If your scores are:

  • From 1991 to October 2002, the processing fee is $20
  • From 1976 through 1990, the processing fee is $25
  • From 1975 or earlier, the processing fee is $30

Rush Reporting Fee

Rush reporting sends your paper score report by first-class mail within two working days after your request is processed. An additional fee applies, plus the score reporting fee for each report, and the processing fee for retrieving the archived scores (see above). Credit card payment is required for phone requests.

You should check with your college before ordering rush reports because institutions receive scores in different formats and may not review your scores until their next scheduled delivery time.

Additional Notes

  • Official score reports that are sent to colleges five or more years after a test date are accompanied by a message explaining that they may be less valid predictors of college academic performance than more recent scores.
  • This message also notifies colleges that for Subject Tests and for the ELPT in particular, knowledge of the subject may change with additional study in the field, and scores may become less valid predictors in a shorter period of time.
  • If you took the SAT Subject Tests prior to October 2002, have scores on hold, and want to release them before sending out score reports, let us know this when you make your request.
