About Science Olympiad Collaboration

The College Board's YES Competition and Science Olympiad have partnered to increase student and teacher interest in epidemiology by cross-promoting the YES Competition with a Science Olympiad signature event, Disease Detectives.

Together, YES and Science Olympiad challenge competitors to use their investigative skills to study disease, injury, and health in human populations, and reward students and teachers for their achievement via participation in national tournaments and conferences, scholarships, travel, and professional development.

Science Olympiad is helping get the word out about YES! This fall Science Olympiad state directors will distribute YES brochures, flyers and other competition materials to educators attending professional development workshops across the country. This joint effort seeks to inform teacher coaches about YES and how the skills their students use for Science Olympiad and Disease Detectives are the same ones required for the YES Competition.
